"let me see you shake that @$$ and break a hip on me."

Sorry, for the title; I'm listening to some gangsta.

Hey kids! I know it's been a while, but you all know, I have been wayyyy busy! This opening up a yarn shop is hard work.

So today is my birthday! Forgive me if I go a little maudlin or introspective here.

This is my last year in my twenties. (Well, technically 30 is the last year of the decade, but this is the last year I'll have a 2 in the tens place.) I feel like I'm in the right spot. For once I really like I've accomplished enough to earn my age. I've spent the morning reminiscing and reflecting on the last couple of years, which have been so full. I've had so much joy and quite a few heartaches. There has been a lot of fight going on. All the family illnesses, personal relationship troubles, and job issues have been worth it to get to my current position. I've got the best husband ever, good friends, a healthy family (KNOCK! KNOCK!) and a beautiful yarn shop. Life is good and every moment is precious and appreciated for "Gam zeh ya'avor."

Congratulations on the way cute pattern in knitty! I went through all of the patterns and printed out three, yours being one. When I got home from work I was reading through and got to the end page and saw your picture and squealed! Very happy for you and "our" sockapaloooza socks are doing great! Happy Birthday!

First of all a big belated Happy Birthday! It is so great that you have 'earned your age' as I am still striving for that.
Second, Twinkletoes is my absolute favorite pattern in this issue of Knitty. When I first saw it I realized it would be a perfect knit for my daughter (also a Chloe) and a few of my little nieces!
Third, congratulations on the yarn shop! It is all very exciting, although tiring work, I am sure. I would love to hear more about the process. Everytime I lament the lack of a LYS in my town my DH suggests I open one. It seems a daunting process though.

Congrats, again on all your success!
